Description

This download contains five new SIM files created entirely from scratch with the permission of newguy2 for the following cars uploaded to the site by newguy2 for NFS5 Porsche Unleashed:

Ferrari P4/5 Pininfarina
Ferrari Enzo Ferrari
Lotus Elise + a Lotus Elise race version
Ruf Porsche 993 CTR 2

The SIM files were made using the Simedit Beta 2 Release (English Version) utility program created by Race2XTC and translated to English by Endat420. The data values used in the files are compiled from published factory specifications for each car to insure the highest possible level of simulation realism.

My goals in creating the SIM files were to eliminate problems such as excessive wheel spin and inaccurate handling characteristics while maintaining accurate acceleration rates, top speeds and car to driver feedback.

Please be sure to read the ReadMe.Txt file for information on car settings as well as tips for getting the most out of your driving experience.

Credits :

1. To Race2XTC and Endat420Martin for creating Simedit Beta 2 Release.
2. To the designers & others credited by Newguy2 in his original car conversions for creating such great cars.
3. Finally, my special thanks & appreciation to Newguy2 for testing my SIM files and giving me his opinions/suggestions as well as his permission to upload my SIM files to share as an alternate to his own.

Thank you. Floor it and Enjoy!!!!

Sincerely, Blake77

The pics were made by playing, at the slowest speed, replays of a race with each car and constantly changing the camera angle until I found a shot that really stood out then pausing the replay. I then took pics of the image on the monitor with a Nikon Cool Pix 4100 on Museum setting. I downloaded the pics into Paint Shop Pro to edit size. The only changes I made to the pics was to sharpen the image and use Gamma Correction set to .88 to kill the excess glare. On average I had to take 25 shots of each car to get one or two good pics.

True! I spent some bucks on a high end NVIDIA Geforce graphics card for windows XP to see how much better NFS5 would look. It looked the same because the card was too fast & the game wouldn't load past the intro. The card now sits disabled inside my pc and I use the video card Dell built into the motherboard.

Did you try playing with the antialias settings? I have a 256 meg GeForce that needed the antialias settings upped to get it to work better.

Like the sims by the way, it takes forever to get them to play right. I spent a month back in the fall doing the SpecVintage classic era package on this site. The game's physics don't translate 100% with what goes into simedit. The easy part is entering all the data from the research materials, but the hard part is then tweaking it to actually feel right in the game.

I had a lot of trouble with SIMS until I figured out what most of the "Floating Variables" values control in SimEdit. There is still a lot of tweaking involved but nothing like before.
Thanks for the tip on the video card settings!
