The no cd patch is a problem because its considered illegal (though I really dont care), so this upload is going to be taken down.

This is the same path like RGS TEAM patch.There are the same files, the same carps, mmmmmm ¬¬ and the same order of files.
i use RGS TEam to play NFS:IV in WIN XP, well i edited this patch only for my personal use (ex. i use Spot Patch for 3D Set Up)

Need For Speed High Stakes And Windows XP
1-Install Need for Speed 4 High Stakes/Road Challenge in Typical Installation.
2-Extract all the files to your NFSHS directory.
3-Copy files from (:dataaudio) to (Open and open the 1MB Patch.sdb. Click File->Install.
5-Execute the crackme.reg file.

Note: The movies are off, because its impossible to play the movies in the game runing in XP, at least i CANT play the game with the movies, not with this patch.

I didnt need any patches to run NFS4 on Win XP. I just installed it and it worked.

Yes same, i had to do some tweaking to the files themself, but the program runs fine on XP.

Its better to follow those instuructions in the forum about nfs4 on Xp, I guarantee at least one will work ;) .

so the CD crack does work? My disk being close to 6 years old now has seen alot of better days and sometime objects to being used...

i hope this works. high stakes works in win xp in various ways... but this one is an mix of patches, the RSG works very well and starts the NFS but the game crash. so i have mixed the no cd... idea from someone called «unknown», i used only the crackme.reg file, that allow to play without the cd of high stakes. thanks for the downloads.

In the game, the vehicles windows are all tinted. How do I change it to where they are all clear?. Thanks for all info

cap123 try to choose another 3D device setup(in the start menu, of in high stakes files), in most of the cases to Direct3D Device. This will bring better graffics and offcourse clear windows. Note that some download cars, in this site, may have tinted windows, some old/maked cars and from other games like nfs3 have tinted windows. sorry about the poor, mistaken english.

Also, I was wondering if anyone could explain on how to use the cheats with Need For Speed: High Stakes. I downloaded the saved game file and placed the config.dat in the game, but no menu came up to allow me to place a cheat code there. Again, Thanks for All Information!

I went there in the trophy room. Cheat Codes were listed on the bottom of the screen. But i can not enter any.

i have a big problem. its a wierd reaction of hs on xp. it works from beginning without patches, but i cant save any changes on graphics, heads up display, etc., but on carrer can. what i need to do?

what do they mean when they say hold up L2 R1?--its some kind of cheat.

these tr0015 codes make no sense for codes. theres no place to enter them--is there?

I am able to get video without the CD-ROM. It broke, but the game still works w/out.

It's too confusing to install! How the heck do you work this thing!!
Whenever i even try to install NFSHS nothing happens. I press proceed and then the autoplay thing dissappers and then nothing! Why isnt NFSHS working at all?

is the graphics better than the new 3d setup 2 made year or so eariler for this game if so how?

Sigh, HS quit working on my laptop due to a win update, dwwin.exe exceptions now...
So im gonna give this patch a try now :)

Double post, but um...
Game loads, menu loads then it crashes to windows saying "unable to load .//data/audio/music/menu1.asp"
How to fix? :\

Maybe you need to copy the "Movies" and "Audio" folder to your NFS HS Installation directory.
