hmm a new patch...... that's for all who said EA forgot about the game once it hit's the store

what will it do for the game?

well from what i saw when i applied the patch it didnt like almost 3/4 of the files it was meant to be patching saying old file not found which is total bull but anyways it doesnt seem to do anything i loaded carbon up it hasnt affected anything from what i can see

what about crashing?

The patch only works for regular edition.
which is why EA really pist me off.

Am i need patch 1.3 fir install 1.4?

I think it helps Carbon work with Vista.

"I've been in touch with EA support about problems with Vista 32 Ultimate and recieved the following reply which does provide hope of a 1.4 patch specifically looking at Vista compatabiliy some time 'soon' Not sure it helps, but I've had the following reply from EA regarding problems with the game and Vista (dated 01 June 2007 - and 'soon' could be anytime):

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Game Support. I am sorry we are unable to get Need for Speed Carbon to work correctly on your Windows Vista system. This game was not developmed for Windows Vista so there maybe problems. We are working on a new patch for Need for Speed Carbon to improve compatibility with Windows Vista (e-mail dated 1-Jun, so 'soon' might be judged against that):

This new patch will be released soon. Unfortunately, I am unable to give the exact time since it is still being worked on. Please look for this patch in the next week or two. Try it out and let me know if it fixes your issue."

if you got xp and the 1.3 patch didn't patch will it work?

I ran this patch and it says "File found. However, unable to update file because file contents do not match"
How stupid is this?
